NFL Update: Chuba Hubbard Has Another Monster Performance
Chuba has posted back-to-back 120-yard performances.
It was a quieter week for Pokes in the NFL, mainly because five of the active OSU alums were on a bye week.
But we still have some highlights to get to, starting with Chuba Hubbard, who looked pretty fresh coming off his own bye week.
Chuba’s Big Day
After a trio of former OSU running backs went off while he was off last weekend, Hubbard made sure to make the headline in Week 6.
The former Poke rushed 28 times for 120 yards and touchdown as he helped his Panthers defeat the Eagles. It was his second consecutive game of at least 120 rushing yards after rack up 122 and two scores against Detroit.

In five games, he has 426 rushing yards and six total touchdowns. It’s no coincidence that the Panthers have won these last two games in which he balled out. Carolina is now 3-2 and in first place in the NFC South.
Warren Shows Up When Needed
A week after making history and earning AFC Offensive Player of the Week, Jaylen Warren had a quieter game. But he showed up when he was needed.
Part of the dip in production was due to the return of Rico Dowdle from injury. Last week, head coach Mike McCarthy’s said that Warren would still be the featured bell cow and to his credit, Warren had 14 carries to Dowdle’s seven.
Warren totaled just 50 rushing yards, his lowest total since Dowdle’s injury. But the Steelers’ offense was pretty quiet for the first three quarters, on the whole. They came into the fourth quarter down 16-3 but scored 13 in the fourth to force overtime.
Then they used Warren to chew up nearly seven minutes of overtime on a 14-play game-winning touchdown drive. Warren had three straight plays running of 12, five and seven yards including this thing of beauty.
