North Texas Hoops Guard Considering OSU, Minnesota as Grad Transfer Options
OSU in the hunt for a do-it-all combo guard who could make an immediate impact.
Next season’s BOK Center Basketball Showdown between OSU and Minnesota could be decided between an ongoing recruiting battle between the two schools.
North Texas graduate transfer Ryan Woolridge, a two-way guard who started 76 games over the last three seasons with the Mean Green, is reportedly deciding between the Cowboys and Golden Gophers for where he will play the remainder of his collegiate eligibility. Woolridge has been on the radar for a bit after announcing he intended to grad transfer, and it appears he is nearing a decision.
Woolridge last season scored 11.7 points and averaged 5.9 rebounds and 4.8 assists, a slight dip from 2017-18 stats in which he scored 12.7 points and averaged 5.8 assists, but impressive nonetheless. The combination of his scoring, assisting and rebounding for a 6-foot-3 guard would make an immediate impact on a team like OSU in need of experience and depth.
GoPokes.com reports that Woolridge has already made a visit to Minnesota; it’s unclear at this point if the Pokes have had the same privilege.
With OSU newbies arriving on campus last week and with two scholarships still open, Woolridge will likely make a decision sooner rather than later to try and get on campus and into the system well before the fall semester.
