Notebook: Oklahoma State-Oklahoma
Check out my five thoughts from the game here. Here’s my leftover notes from a pretty entertaining Bedlam contest on Wednesday night.
- Jawun Evans is seen more as a pass-first point guard, but he’s proving why he should be looking for his shot first.
- Leyton Hammonds may be asleep.
- No Tyree Griffin, no problem for the Pokes. Griffins absence is missed, but Evans can do it all … and then some.
- The #YieldHield campaign is not going so swell. This dude hits everything.
- It may not be the most rowdy crowd ever, but at least the student section was pretty packed…
Best crowd of the season for OSU at GIA. And, no, OU crowd is not even close to matching OSU number of fans

- Chris Olivier is really developing into a nice scoring option in the post. He’s what I expected Mitch Solomon to become this year.
- A very audible “BOOMER SOONER” chant breaking out on the ESPN broadcast from the crowd is pretty telling. I know it was the best crowd of the season, but still…
- This Jawun Evans – Buddy Hield back and forth is incredible. Jawun scores, Buddy answers… but Jawun is stealing the show from the likely Big 12 player of the year.
- Is Jawun a one-and-done type player?
Juwan Evans, got some Chris Paul to him. #GoPokes

- OSU is one player away from being pretty respectable, but that player unfortunately isn’t on this roster. (or he’s injured and done for the season)
- The defensive effort is really incredible…but even when your defense slows a pace, it still doesn’t do a lick of good if you can’t score. Evans is the only guy with any type of feel tonight.
- Jordan Woodard is going to be the next Perry Ellis. Pretty sure he’s a sophomore but it already feels like he’s been at OU since Eddie was here.

- What’s up with Tavarius Shine? The more Carroll we see, the less Shine we get…kind of like to see him and Hammonds on the floor together more.
- Jawun Evans is sooooo heady. Gets the ball from the official and immediately chunks at the rim to try and regain possession. It worked.
- Cowboys lose, but my gosh what a show…
THAT CLOSE.
