Notebook: Oklahoma State-Texas Tech

Five thoughts are here. They are not pretty.

• I turned the game on late. Second I turned it on the announcers were trying to prop up what Travis Ford has done in his career at OSU as being super noteworthy. Come on, guys.

• Our zone offense is spectacularly bad. It would be extremely difficult for it to be worse than it was in the first half.

• I am genuinely annoyed when our late-in-the-shot-clock threes go in because it’s positive reinforcement for an egregious decision.

• OSU was 3/10 in the first half on two-pointers and 7/18 on three-pointers. So that’s weird.

• Tech’s Nolan Cox had 11 points against us tonight. Tied a career high. No offense, Nolan.

• Was the announcer Tyree Griffin’s doctor? “HE’S PLAYING WITH A LOT OF PAIN!”

• I was told one of Tech’s better players, Justin Gray, who is from Tampa, had offers from Ivy League schools. It makes sense that he would end up in Lubbock.

• OSU is, (I guess) humorously, a better team when it has to play from behind because at least the yanked threes from all over the yard make a little bit of sense.

• I find myself incredibly bored by college basketball players generally and especially the ones on both teams tonight. Where are the Tony Allens? Where are the John Lucas’ Heck, where are the Melvin Sanders’?

• Good point(s) here.

• Joe Lunardi has Tech in the NCAA Tournament? That’s startling, right? But if you’re going to put OSU in the last two years with an 8-10 record each year, I guess you have to include Tech.

• Toddrick Gotcher is a ballplayer, man. I hope Tech somehow proves Lunardi right just for his sake.

• I feel like if I’d tweeted out a chant for the student section to organize and do tonight, I could have heard it on TV. That’s not a good thing. Although it would be pretty funny.

• The crowds legit look like mid-2000s women’s games. No offense to the women.
