Oklahoma State fans’ panic didn’t even last a full 24 hours.
After being listed as questionable on the initial player availability report for the Cowboys’ game against UCF on Saturday, Wyatt Young was a guest on the Eric Morris Show and said he’s good to go against the Knights.
“I’m feeling great,” Young told Dave Hunziker. “I’m excited to play on Saturday.”
There wasn’t anything indicating what Young had been dealing with, but his coach said he’s been “banged up.”
“Wyatt had a good day,” Morris said. “He’s just been a little bit banged up here of late, but somebody that practiced well today. So, I think he should be full force come Saturday.”
Morris also gave an update on starting guard Johnny Dickson, who was also listed as questionable.
“Johnny has practiced on and off throughout the course of this week,” Morris said. “We’re getting Braydon Nelson back, so we do have some depth returning. So, obviously we want to keep that offensive line still — they’re steamrolling in the right direction right now, and they’re getting some continuity. So, we want to keep them all together, but feel really good about that position.”
Young leads the Cowboys in receptions (22) and receiving yards (410) this season and already has two 100-yard outings (against Oregon and West Virginia).
Dickson has played at both guard spots throughout the year and has played more offensive snaps as any Cowboy, per PFF.
Nelson playing would mark his OSU debut. He had played 1,836 snaps over the past two seasons at North Texas, mostly at left tackle.
We’ll update this post when the Thursday player availability report releases.
