Oklahoma State Going All-Black against Iowa State
OSU’s equipment staff goes all-in for Iowa State.
Oklahoma State’s equipment staff broke the glass on the all-black case for Saturday’s tilt with Iowa State. It’s a bold move but with just three home games remaining — including what should be some tasty Homecoming threads for Texas — I am all for it.
Shout out to Justin Southwell, who called the black-black-black look in this week’s Uni Predictions, sans the helmet.

The Cowboys will be donning the barbed wire lids, though, with an orange facemask. The only thing that makes that option work for me is the orange numbers. Still, I’d prefer the black fackmask with this combo — or an orange brand — but that’s enough complaining.

This is a very nice look for OSU, especially juxtaposed to the Cyclones’ white-white-red kit that the school announced earlier this week. Contrast is always nice.

This is the same combo Oklahoma State wore back in 2016, when the Pokes debuted the barbed wire lid against Texas Tech. Yes, back when that streak was still alive. It’s also the same helmet/facemask OSU wore in Ames last year. Hopefully the Darth Vader look can help OSU keep this string of six-straight wins against the Cyclones alive.
