Oklahoma State Lands 2018 Linebacker Kolby Peel
Oklahoma State has added its third commitment of the 2018 class this week as three-star outside linebacker Kolby Peel announced his decision to play college football for the Cowboys in 2018 on Thursday.
Peel is a 6-foot, 210 pound prospect from A&M Consolidated in College Station. He chose OSU over other offers that included Cincinnati, Iowa State, Minnesota, SMU and others.
Although listed at some recruiting services as a safety, Peel will fill a role at the star linebacker position with his coverage skills and experience covering large parts of the field in space. He has good size and has been productive in high school, recording 85 tackles, five tackles for loss, and four interceptions for A&M Consolidated in 2015 as a sophomore.
With Peel in the fold, OSU now has commitments at both inside linebacker (Blake Barron) and outside linebacker (Kolby Peel) for 2018. He becomes the eleventh member of OSU’s 2018 recruiting class which sits at the top of the Big 12 rankings, and is nearing a top-10 national ranking.
