Oklahoma State starting safety Trey Rucker was arrested on Sunday for a suspicion of DUI.

According to the Stillwater News Press‘ Marcus Trevino, multiple callers reported a vehicle had not moved through multiple cycles at a stop light. A police officer reported he noticed the odor of alcohol when Rucker rolled his window down. Rucker missed heel-to-toe on “almost every step” of a field-sobriety test and declined blowing into a breathalyzer, according to the Stillwater News Press.

Rucker’s initial court appearance is scheduled for Thursday.

An OSU spokesperson told PFB that OSU is aware of the situation but had no further comment at this time.

Rucker was arrested for an alleged DUI in June 2021.

A redshirt senior originally from Maryland, Rucker has started in each of the Cowboys’ opening four games this season. He has 18 tackles, including a tackle for loss on the season.

Rucker transferred to Oklahoma State ahead of the 2021 season after two seasons at Wake Forest. He recorded 84 tackles, two tackles for loss, two interceptions, a pass breakup and a fumble recovery with the Demon Deacons.

Upon transferring to Stillwater, Rucker played in all 14 of the Cowboys’ Fiesta Bowl-winning 2021 season — primarily on special teams. That season he made 10 tackles, including a tackle for loss.

Rucker redshirted in 2022, playing in the Cowboys’ Guaranteed Rate Bowl against Wisconsin, where he made three tackles and intercepted a pass that he returned 16 yards.
