Oklahoma State Wrestling Signs Top-Ranked Recruiting Class
Taylor’s superstar class puts pen to paper.
David Taylor’s top-ranked recruiting class signed on Wednesday, continuing a strong start to Taylor’s tenure in Stillwater.
Oklahoma State signed four prospects in the Flo’s top 10 for the 2026 class: No. 2 Jax Forrest, No. 4 Dreshaun Ross, No. 5 Jordyn Raney and No. 6 Jayden Raney.
Forrest headlines the group. He is coming off a gold medal at the U23 World Championships and was also the United States’ senior representative of the World Championships, where he came a singlet pull short of a bronze medal.
To get to that point, Forrest won the U.S. Open at 61 kg (about 134 pounds) and swept former world champion and two-time NCAA champion Vito Arujau at Final X.
Ross is a heavyweight prospect from Iowa who shines just about as brightly on the gridiron as he does on the mat. Ross is looking to become a four-time Iowa state champion this year. Also holding Division-I football offers, Ross made 52 tackles this season including 33 tackles for loss and 13 sacks.
Ross won at Fargo in July, outscoring his first five opponents a combined 53-0 before besting Coby Merrill, brother of Cody Merrill, 3-2 in the final.
Out of Kentucky, the Raney twins have nine state titles between them. They also excel in the Greco-Roman discipline.
Jayden is coming off a win at Who’s Number One, pinning his foe at the event after building a 7-2 lead. He won gold at the 2024 U17 World Championships in Greco and won the Senior U.S. Open in the discipline this year, earning the right to represent the U.S. at the World Championships.
Jordyn also wrestled at Who’s Number One but suffered an ankle injury shortly into his match against Bo Bassett. Jordyn also won at Fargo this year, besting former OSU commit Kellen Wolbert in the final in a 19-14 dogfight.
OSU also added lightweight Rocklin Zinkin with this class. Out of California, Zinkin won the 120-pound bracket at Fargo and Super 32 this year and went 1-1 at Who’s Number One.
Mikey White, out of Indiana, committed to the Cowboys in August after previously being committed to Minnesota. He only started wrestling in high school but has developed quickly, taking third at Fargo this summer.
Jake Hamiti, brother of OSU national champ Dean Hamiti, closes out the Cowboy class. He made the move from Illinois to Stillwater and will wrestle for the Pioneers this year. He finished in the top five of his final two Illinois state tournaments.
