OSU Basketball Coaching Rumors (March 21)
I’m going to be dropping a daily (ish) OSU basketball coach rumors post here on PFB. This is going to be totally unconfirmed stuff that I’m not at all propping up as truth but is fun to think about.
These are basically things that I’m pretty sure happened from people who have no reason to mislead me but don’t mean much without some context. If you have a tip, email me at pistolsfiringblog at gmail dot com.
Let’s get started …
Sources: CBS Sports' Doug Gottlieb is interested in #Tulane's basketball head coach opening. He's also pushing for Oklahoma St. HC job.

North Carolina assistant coach (and former Tulsa head coach) Steve Robinson was on my flight from Atlanta to OKC the other day. He rented a one-way car from Hertz going to … Stillwater. The nice lady at Hertz counter didn’t mind telling me. I was kind of surprised.
The McKnight family plane is headed for Stillwater from Dallas as we speak with a quick turn to Oklahoma City. Other than Mike Holder jumping into T Boone’s Gulfstream, the McKnights are the second most frequent in and out of Stillwater. I’d estimate somebody is getting a face to face in OKC. Ben Jacobson perhaps, given that UNI just finished?
Agent of Doug Gottlieb and Brad Underwood (same guy) meeting up with OSU at Karsten Creek this week – per sources.

A donor told me that Doug Gottlieb is not OSU’s first choice. Jay Wright from Villanova is.
A business jet from Hattiesburg, MS landed in Stillwater today. Chris Croft is their director of basketball operations. He was an administrative assistant at OSU under Eddie in 1996-1997.
It appears Oklahoma State may be set to hire Brad Underwood any time now. Have heard more than one report.

Brad Underwood will be visiting Stillwater, Okla. this week as the Cowboys are reportedly interested in his services. Good call.
