OSU Pledge C.J. Moore Hints at More Good Recruiting News Coming

Published

Late Sunday afternoon, Oklahoma State commit Blake Barron alluded to some good news that would come later that evening when former Arkansas pledge Tanner McCalister made his commitment to OSU public.

Now it seems we’ve got another crystal ball-reader in C.J. Moore, OSU’s highest-rated commit in 2018, who took to Twitter late Sunday to announce that an orange-tinted surprise would be arriving Tuesday.

That little hint left OSU fans (once again!) blasting my DM’s with some iteration of “CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT IS HAPPENING?!?!”

I cannot. But as far as educated guesses go, there’s three scenarios I think are realistic.

Number 1. Four-star RB Lyn-J Dixon is picking Oklahoma State. The talented Georgia speedster originally had tabbed Tuesday night for his announcement but has since moved that to Wednesday for signing day. Dixon is set to choose between OSU and Clemson, and despite my guess being he sticks with the local (ish) Tigers, word is that OSU made a solid impression this weekend. Although when asked if it was Dixon or not, Moore played it coy…

Number 2. Haki Woods makes his call? The junior college defensive back from Pima C.C. is fresh off visits to Cal and Utah, but still has the photo from his OSU official visit as his Twitter avi. Will he finally sound off the Pistols Firing?

Number 3. Arkansas pledge Sean Michael Flanagan flips. I think this is the least likely of scenarios — based off what I’ve heard in recent days, his Arkansas official visit this past weekend has him leaning with sticking with the Hogs despite a large bit of momentum in OSU’s favor after an OV the week before.

Analysis: If we’re going strictly off timelines announced in Moore’s tweet, a Lyn-J Dixon commitment makes the most sense. The four-star back will announce on Tuesday and sign on Wednesday, just days after a successful OSU visit.

I’m still dubious of OSU’s chances, but this seems to be the most likely of possibilities given Moore’s tweet. The caveat here: Maybe Moore is fooling on Twitter when he plays up the part about his feelings being hurt and downplaying Dixon-to-OSU. Or maybe he’s fooling everyone — myself included — and there’s no news at all coming on Tuesday.

I’ll lean towards Moore knowing something we don’t, as he’s been a successful behind-the-scenes recruiter for Oklahoma State. I’ll buckle up and gear up for a wild ride with everyone else as signing day is less than two days away, and OSU doesn’t appear to be done yet.
