Oklahoma State Visit Has Running Back Target Lyn-J Dixon Thinking

Four-star 2018 Georgia running back prospect Lyn-J Dixon made an official visit to Oklahoma State this weekend — the last on his docket before he intends to commit — and by all accounts it went off without a hitch.

The 5-11, 180-pound speedster is down to Clemson and Oklahoma State with a Tuesday decision looming, and his trip to Stillwater gave him something to think long and hard about.

“The OSU visit was great and I really enjoyed it,” Dixon told Rivals. “What impressed me was the people and the atmosphere. It seems like everyone gets along up there and I like that.”

Dixon praised Clemson after his visit there for their family-like atmosphere, and it seems OSU did nothing to dissuade him from thinking OSU was anything other than family-oriented. Additionally, OSU’s recruiting pitch seems to have stuck with him as coaches used two talented Hill’s — both past and present — to pitch him.

“They said I that I remind them of Justice Hill and some of Tyreek Hill,” said Dixon. “They said If I come in and put the work in, then I will play. The coaches also said to me that I have a chance to come in to play early.

“This visit helped them out a lot with me,” he emphasized. “Looking at their offense, I saw it wouldn’t be a problem with me fitting in.”

Dixon intends to commit Tuesday evening at 8:45 p.m. and will sign on Wednesday. Despite Clemson still being considered the favorite here, OSU’s pitch seems to have given him something to think hard on. In fact, he tells Rivals it’s one of his most challenging decisions he’ll ever make.

“To be honest, this is going to be the hardest decision in my life. I’m going to pray and look into a lot of things before making this decision.”

If we’re putting predictions to paper, I’ll stick with my previous pick of Clemson. Geographically speaking, it makes a ton of sense for him. And entering this weekend, I felt like the Tigers’ lead was insurmountable. Despite OSU’s strong push during his visit, I still lean with Clemson in a slight edge in this recruiting battle. But the gap between the two finalists seems a lot closer than I initially may have thought before today.
