OSU Wrestling: Prep National Champ Trevor Mastrogiovanni Commits
The Pokes add another touted prospect to their 2020 class.

Another day, another big commitment for the Cowboys. After landing commitments in the last two weeks from No. 1-ranked 152-pounder Brevin Balmeceda for the class of 2019 and #6 ranked 195 pounder Konner Doucet for the 2020 class, the Cowboys land another massive recruit for 2020 with Trevor Mastrogiovanni.
Flo announced Wednesday that the No. 5-ranked wrestler in his class would be committing to OSU. Mastrogiovanni is also the No 9 overall recruit the the 2020 class. Flo currently lists him at 120, but projects him as a college 133 or 141. They also rank him as the No. 4 prospect at 141 pounds.
Here’s Mastrogiovanni taking out two-time world champ Kurt Mchenry.

If you follow Mastrogiovanni’s high school results he seems to be on a steady climb each year. He made strides from his freshman season to sophomore year and hopefully, that will continue into his junior season. Mastrogiovanni attends Blair Academy in New Jersey. He credits his connection to assistant Zack Esposito, who also attended Blair, as a big influence on his commitment.
Oh yeah, he has a younger brother that’s pretty good, also. Travis is one of the top recruits in the 2021 class.
