OSU Wrestling: Son of Eric Guerrero, Ishmael, Commits to Cowboys
Ishmael is OSU’s second class of 2025 commitment this week.
Add another family tree that’s rooted in the Cowboy wrestling dynasty.
Ishmael Guerrero, son of Eric, announced Friday on Instagram that he committed to wrestle at Oklahoma State. Ishmael is a member of the class of 2025, meaning he’s a junior at Bixby High School with two seasons still left to finish.
Ishmael is the Cowboys’ second commitment of the week from the class of 2025. No. 3 pound-for-pound prospect LaDarion Lockett out of Stillwater High School announced his decision Tuesday. Lockett pinned Ishmael in last year’s Oklahoma Class 6A state final at 157 pounds.
Ishmael’s father, Eric, was a three-time NCAA champion for OSU before serving on the coaching staff from 2001-17. He’s also a member of the USA Wrestling Hall of Fame after representing the United States in the 2004 Summer Olympic Games.
