Draft Projections
The latest mock draft by Ryan Wilson of CBS Sports shows James Washington going No. 24 overall to the Carolina Panthers.
James Washington, WR, Oklahoma State. Devin Funchess was the Panthers’ leading receiver last season, followed by a running back (Christian McCaffrey) and a player they traded after eight games (Kelvin Benjamin). Put another way: Cam Newton needs another downfield weapon and Washington could be it.
Wilson’s colleague at CBS, Chris Trapasso, has Washington going 14th to the Green Bay Packers
James Washington, WR, Oklahoma State. Washington plays with shades of Greg Jennings, a scary deep threat who can also put his cleat in the ground and abruptly create separation on comebacks and in-breaking routes as a chain-mover.
…and Rudolph going 28th overall to the Pittsburgh Steelers
Mason Rudolph, QB, Oklahoma State. While Ben Roethlisberger hasn’t indicated he’s ready to call it quits, that time is coming soon, possibly after the 2018 campaign. Rudolph is a similar style quarterback with a large frame who thrives from inside the pocket.
John Harris of USA Today also has Washington going 24th to the Panthers
James Washington, WR, Oklahoma State
After losing Ted Ginn Jr. to the Saints in free agency and trading Kelvin Benjamin to the Bills, the Panthers lacked firepower at receiver. In the playoff loss to the Saints, quarterback Cam Newton’s receiving corps consisted of Devin Funchess and a bunch of no-names. Washington can be a major deep threat immediately.
Land of 10 has both James Washington and Mason Rudolph going in the first round with Washington going 18th to the Seattle Seahawks and Rudolph being taken by the Buffalo Bills with the 21st pick.
SB Nation’s latest mock has the dynamic OSU duo slipping a bit further with Washington falling to 50th overall to the Dallas Cowboys and Rudolph falling all the way to No. 61 to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Mason Rudolph and another QB from Oklahoma were named among the most overrated prospects in this year’s draft.
Weak arm, huh?

Somebody’s totally crushing — Washington on Washington love.
