Breaking Down Rudolph Film: Can He Make NFL Throws?
Adam Lunt has already looked at instances where Mason Rudolph has excelled in reading defenses and where he has lacked a little bit, but today he’s going to look at what kind of throws Rudolph has in his arsenal.
This is going to be a multi-post series (obviously) so he’ll touch on pretty much every aspect of Rudolph’s game in the lead up to the NFL Draft in April.
Let’s take a look at the highlights from the video below, which Lunt wonderfully narrates. It’s been fun to watch these and learn something myself even as we put them out there for all of you guys to enjoy.
• I love it when Adam says “hey, what’s up guys?” ?
• Agree on Rudolph’s arm strength. It’s probably underrated but won’t blow you away.
• The throw at 2:30 is one of the best Rudolph made in the last two years. NFL toss.
• The throw at 3:55 is equally good. He got pretty good his junior year at throwing deep outs. And Ateman was the perfect recipient for them.
• The throw at 5:15 was a reminder of how many throws under duress Rudolph made in the first two years of his career. I suspect that experience will serve him well in the NFL where seemingly every throw is under duress (or at the very least much faster than in college).
• The throw at 6:45 was maybe my favorite throw Rudolph made all year. Elite.
• OK, the throw at 7:50 might have been even better.
