PFB Predictions for Iowa State-Oklahoma State

Published

on

Iowa State and its somewhat deceptive 1-3 record come to Stillwater on Saturday looking to knock No. 25 Oklahoma State to 0-2 in home conference games this season.

Here’s how the PFB team believes things will shake out.

Kyle Porter: Oklahoma State 40, Iowa State 17. I think we get front mullet at 2:30 p.m. and back mullet at 9 p.m. and beyond. Business at the start. Party to the end. This team has done mostly the opposite of what everyone has predicted so far this season — smashed Boise, lost to Tech, routed Kansas — so I think while everyone sees this being a close one, OSU will win handily, get Keondre more snaps and open the door to at least thinking about regaining control of its season.

Kyle Boone: Oklahoma State 42, Iowa State 35. OSU hasn’t lost to Iowa State since the game that shall never be spoken of (Quinn Sharp’s kick was good!), but the games themselves have been relatively close. Over the last four years, OSU, on average, has only won by 8.75 points per game against the Cyclones. The last three years? 6.0 points. This will be a closely contested game.

Kyle Cox: Oklahoma State 38, Iowa State 21. I think the Cowboys take care of Lewis Field with a heavy does of Justice Hill and another multiple-sack outing by Jordan Brailford. The ‘Clones don’t have the dudes to keep up on offense and Zeb Noland spends more time on the turf than the grounds crew at Karsten Creek.

Marshall Scott: Oklahoma State 31, Iowa State 21. I don’t have a lot of faith in Iowa State’s offense, so this should be a good opportunity for OSU’s defense to show out. With that said, ISU has had nothing but close games this year.

Dustin Ragusa: Oklahoma State 30, Iowa State 17. I could see this being an ugly, low scoring game in the first half, especially with the high chance of rain on Saturday. However, with a banged up David Montgomery, I don’t think Iowa State is able to produce enough on the offensive side of the ball.

I think the Cowboy secondary cleans up their coverage break downs from last weekend and Oklahoma State has another solid outing against the run. On offense, I think the OSU is led by Justice Hill once again, and Taylor Cornelius has a similar number of attempts and completions as the KU game. The Pokes pull away in the second half and win this one by 13.

Grant Newton: Oklahoma State 30, Iowa State 27 – I think this game is a little too close for comfort. ISU hung with the Sooners a few weeks ago, so don’t be deceived by their record, they can play. Matt Campbell has done marvelous things in Ames. At the end of the day, however, too many threats on offense for OSU, and the less than 100% Montgomery reassures me that OSU pulls this one out at home, but it might go down to the wire.
