Poll Results: Only 8 Percent of OSU Fans Don’t Like the Uniforms

I put out this poll recently to gauge your thoughts on the new Oklahoma State football uniforms. Granted, readers of this blog are probably more likely to enjoy change (and uniforms, for that matter) than most (because we’re Millennials, right?!), but the results were very favorable for the new threads.

Here’s a look.

That would be 92 percent of you saying either, “they’re solid,” “I love them,” or “they’re perfect.” Only eight percent said “meh” or “I hate them.” And really only five people said “I hate them.”

I voted for “I love them” which is a step down from my initial reaction. I do love them a lot, but I have a few mild concerns (which I outlined here). Anyway, a few comments.

Mark: I hate to give my favorite team a ‘Meh’ vote, but these just aren’t working for me. I like the bandanna, but hate how it is used around the sleeves as well. I also dislike the ‘Cowboys’ on the legs. I honestly feel like our previous uniforms were better. This version feels more like an Adidas effort IMHO.

Guest: Other than these being lighter, how are these uniforms really “cutting edge”? The bandana looks like something that FSU has already done and Oregon already has the name on the leg just like them. Sure they’ve been changed from the last uniform, these aren’t really that cutting edge that I am seeing. Before you get upset, I like the changes, but I just disagree with your statement that they are cutting edge.

Adam: Moar payslie! Such a great addition.

Chris: The font is probably my biggest complaint. It’s gimmicky. How does it connect to barbed wire? Because they both have sharp points? My first thought was the slanted numbers from the Fields era or the Detroit Lions’ numbers. We’re better than that. The classic blocks looked soooooo good.

DC: I’m voting “Meh”, only because I really, really liked our old uniforms. I miss the “top gun” wings on the shoulders and the stripes on the legs. I’m glad there is a positive consensus behind these though.
