Programming for the Weekend

Quite a bit going on this weekend. I’ll actually be out of town for the next three days so my boy Nolo will be running the site as well as the Twitter feed. He’s a lot snarkier and funnier than I am so you should enjoy it.

Also, just to keep everything straight, I’ve included a viewing guide below with times, TV, web sites, and a mini-preview for all the golf, baseball, and softball activities OSU has going on right now.

Golf – The Cowboy golf team tees it up at 12:20 today against Ohio State. You can watch everything online here at NCAA.com. The video feed is actually impeccably good and the announcing is way above par (see what I did there) for an internet video feed so I highly recommend it. Plus they won’t be broadcast on TV so you don’t really have a choice unless you’re heading out to Karsten Creek. Tickets for the weekend if you’re going can be found here. The tee times for the rest of the weekend (hopefully we have to worry about that) can be found here on NCAA.com after the rounds are completed today.

Softball – The Cowgirls return to action tomorrow at 11 AM on ESPN as well as ESPN3.com. The link for watching online is here. If they win they will play Saturday night at 6 PM on ESPN2 and ESPN3.com. If they somehow win that one too they’ll go back to ESPN and ESPN3.com on Sunday at noon. I don’t expect a ton out of this squad because they seem mildly overmatched, but if they can get past #7-seeded Cal a probable rematch with Paylor awaits and they’re 2-1 against the Lady Bears this year.

Baseball – Cowboy baseball gets it going at 2 PM today against Troy. Tanner Ray will be on the hill for the Trojans, he of the 11-0 record and 2.39 ERA, so OSU has its work cut out. If they can get past that game they’ll have #7 ranked Vanderbilt awaiting. The good news for Frank Anderson and his team is that Vandy is throwing its ace on Friday night against Belmont. The bad news is that Vandy’s #2 starter was SEC Pitcher of the Year and went 12-1 with a 2.35 ERA. Baseball games can be seen on the Vanderbilt web site here. None of these games will be on TV or ESPN3.com

I’m hoping to come back to a national title, super regional, and still-alive Cowgirls softball team. Like I said, Nolo will be updating the blog and foraying into Twitter a bit, hope you guys enjoy it.
