Let’s take a look at what OSU athletes outside of football and hoops are up to over the past week or so. First up, the ponies.

Equestrian

Read more about Academic-All Big 12 senior Kendall Pedigo. I thought her reasoning for coming to Stillwater was pretty interesting.

“I came to OSU for two reasons: The people, and the team. I loved the people, and the Midwest culture. Everyone is so nice, and say ‘y’all’ and ‘ma’am’ and I thought that was super cute. The opportunity to be part of such a great team was another reason that I came to OSU.”

Golf

Rickie Fowler broke out the orange on Sunday during the Bridgestone Invitational. Fowler finished in ninth place at 6 under. He’ll head to Quail Hollow for the PGA Championship this week where he won the Wells Fargo Championship in 2012 in a playoff over Rory McIlroy.

Senior Brandon Jelley has had himself quite the summer.

Also, here’s the women’s golf schedule for 2017-2018.

Softball

OSU’s former softball director of operations Jeff Cottrill has been named the Cowgirls’ new pitching coach.

“I’m thrilled to be switching roles and joining the coaching staff on the field this season,” Cottrill said. “There is nothing like being a part of the entire experience on the field. I’ve been fortunate to be able to be around and interact with the team during my first two years here, but I’m excited to now be moving down onto the field and working with these kids every day.”

Wrestling

Incoming freshman Daton Fix won gold last week at the Junior World Championships in Tampere Finland. It was an impressive achievement that Kyle Cox wrote a little bit about here.
