Temple Transfer Defensive Tackle Demerick Morris Commits to Oklahoma State
Morris has been earning starts at Temple since 2021.
The Cowboys continue to bolster its defensive front in the transfer portal by picking up a starting defensive tackle from the American Athletic Conference.
Temple DT Demerick Morris on Monday announced he had committed to Oklahoma State. Over the past five seasons with the Owls, Morris logged 42 tackles, six tackles for loss, a sack, a pass breakup and a fumble recovery. He played 341 defensive snaps for Temple in 2024, according to PFF.

Listed at 6-foot-3, 300 pounds, Morris joined the Owls out of the 2020 recruiting class and has been there ever since — somewhat of a rarity these days to see someone stay at one place for so long. He picked Temple over offers from Toledo, Miami (OH), Bowling Green, Kent State, Air Force and others out of Wendell Phillips Academy in Chicago. He made a pair of tackles as a true freshman at Temple before playing in 11 games during his second season with the program, even earning his first career start.
He became a regular starter for the Owls in 2022, but injury saw him miss most of 2023. This past season, he had a career-high 13 tackles, including a tackle for loss and a half sack. He also wore No. 9 for Temple, which is a big deal because the Owls give single digits to those who lead by example on and off the field.
The Cowboys have been loading up on transfer defensive linemen, as Morris joins Malik Charles (West Georgia) and Kyran Duhon (UTEP) to join via the portal. OSU has also added junior college defensive ends Chandavian Bradley (Hutchinson) and Rashod Bradley (East Mississippi).
