The Morning Fade – 1.6.11
Saban courts Barry Sanders Jr. – “Saban met with Sanders in the cafeteria area as part of a tour of the Heritage Hall campus.” — this might be the funniest thing I’ve read this year. The mental picture of Saban jamming his body into a cafeteria seat while pimple-faced pipsqueaks carrying trays of chicken fried steaks wander past is just epic. Also, is it just me or does BSJ look like mini-Durant?
Chatmon with some recent thoughts on the new OC – Good, rational stuff here. I’ll write a bigger post on all of this later on but if my life is on the line I’m betting Blackmon leaves, Weeden stays, and Gundy promotes co-coordinators from within. I’m not saying I like it, just that I think it will happen.
Sittler weighs in on 2011 football in the state of Oklahoma – Really, I love the sentiment, but how many columns are we going to write about the fact that OU, OSU, and Tulsa are all going to have solid football teams in 2011?
Dr. Saturday with a cool look at the best comebacks of the year – I know it meant nothing but how do you not have Kansas over Colorado at #1? I mean they were down 28 with 10 minutes left! Most teams would have been un-redshirting freshmen just to get them some pt and KU scored 5 TDs. Kansas!
Gene Wojciechowski with a recruiting handbook written by recruits – This is incredible, every coach in the country should make this required reading for his staff.
Fox Sports with an really really early look at the POY race in college hoops – No Big XII players on this list…
Jeff Goodman with the first RPI release – OSU is at #39 but what’s more interesting to me is that Baylor isn’t in the top 68. Also, no way Duke can be #8, that’s absurd.
