Kevin Wilson to be next Indiana coach – Somewhere, A&M fans weep…

Brady Ackerman reports Holgorsen isn’t going anywhere – Somewhere A&M fans weep some more…

Blackmon and the NFL – I’m not going to be able to sleep on January 14th. I guess if I had to put fair odds on it right now I’d set them at 50/50. How do you not go? I’d probably go and I wouldn’t blame him for going but I hope he knows how sweet next season could be with him here. Most underrated part of this article: Brandon Weeden is really funny with the media. I enjoy it.

Weeden too?!?!? – “In October, he told the Tulsa World that unless a team offered him ‘Sam Bradford money … I’m going to be here. I love Oklahoma State.’ When asked about his future Monday, Weeden wasn’t so sure.” Foxworthy Weeden emerges again. I’m telling you, he seems hilarious. But yeah, this scares me. I don’t need to see Clint Chelf flinging it around to Josh Cooper next year.

No Blackmon in NYC – Expected, but nonetheless disappointing. In 2003 Fitzgerald went 87 catches for 1595 yards and 22 TDs and finished about 20 first place votes from becoming the first WR to win it since Desmond Howard in ’91. Blackmon won’t finish that high but he could upend Crabtree in ’08, who only had 116 points and 3 first place votes.

Bevo has a short leash – “Texas offensive coordinator Greg Davis has resigned and two other assistant coaches are leaving after the Longhorns’ first losing season since 1997. Davis, who has been with head coach Mack Brown for 13 seasons at Texas, had been under fire all season as Texas finished 5-7 and didn’t qualify for a bowl. It was Brown’s first losing season since 1989.

Ubben recaps the Cowboys season – “Weeden makes the whole offense run. Hunter gives the Cowboys consistency. Blackmon takes them to an elite level. He proved uncoverable all year. No team held him under 100 yards or without a touchdown, and his streak of 11 games with both tied an NCAA record. Don’t look for that to change against Arizona in the Alamo Bowl.” He also makes a really great point that the Lewis/Brown play of the year could really give those guys some momentum to become stars in 2011.

Marcus Lattimore’s mom eviscerates Curtis Luper – “Yolanda Smith has a unique perspective on Saturday’s SEC championship game between Auburn and South Carolina. She’ll be in the stands at the Georgia Dome to watch her son, Marcus Lattimore, South Carolina’s freshman-sensation tailback, whose college decision last February came down to an intense recruiting battle between the Gamecocks and Auburn. She describes Curtis Luper, Auburn’s running backs coach and recruiting coordinator, as a ‘used car salesman.'”

Stew Mandel breaking down Auburn Oregon – “Technically, the name of the event is the BCS National Championship Game, but for the fifth straight year it might as well be known as: The SEC vs. The Rest of Country Invitational.” Great work by Mandel…as always.
