The Morning Fade – 4.25.11

I’d like to apologize for our relative inactivity at the end of last week. I was doing some behind-the-scenes work on the blog which some of you may have noticed in the way of a slightly different designed and themed website. I haven’t tested it on all platforms though so if you see something that looks off-kilter (like Rick Barnes’ ear) email me at pistolsfiringblog {at} gmail {dot} com

Big 12 golf championships start today in Kansas (and yet somehow Nebraska is listed as the host). OSU is the heavy favorite, but A&M and Texas are lurking. You can follow live results for the next three days right here. Also here are your tee times. (Golf Stat)

And while we’re here how about a look at Kevin Tway, who says he plays a lot with Scott Verplank because “he has a really unbelievable short game.” (Stillwater News Press)

OSU baseball got smoked yesterday by A&M for the sweep. The worst part about the three losses is that it drops the Cowboys back behind OU in the conference standings and has them flirting with the bottom half of the league. Hopefully a home series against K-State this weekend will be the remedy for that. (

At Justin Blackmon Day in Ardmore on Saturday, one kid contemplated whether or not Blackmon is faster than a Cheetah. He finally decided that he’s not but that he “might be” faster than Bullet. (O’Colly)

The “what do we do with Hart Lee Dykes?” debate rages on. (News OK)

Pretty crazy story here about life and death and golf in New Zealand for former OSU golfer, Sarah Bradley. Thanks to @ryancameron24 for the link. (Yahoo)

Karsten Creek is ranked the 12th greatest public golf course in the United States, right behind Spyglass. (Golf Digest)

Somebody’s projecting OSU to have a 1,000-rusher, 1,000-yard receiver, and 3,000-yard passer. The last two are obviously not a surprise, but the first one might be. (Rivals)

A few of you might remember the video Q posted a few months ago entitled “Keiton can dunk?” Well…Keiton can dunk.
