Todd Monken Leaving College to Become Offensive Coordinator for Baltimore Ravens

After successfully completing his takeover of college football with consecutive national championships calling plays for Georgia, former OSU offensive coordinator Todd Monken on Tuesday officially jumped back into the NFL after accepting the same position for the Baltimore Ravens.

Monken was with UGA since 2020 spending 2016-2019 in the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Cleveland Browns as offensive coordinator. Prior to that he was the head coach at Southern Miss, a position he took after leaving OSU in 2012.

Monken was the mastermind behind the OSU offense that propelled the Cowboys to a Big 12 title in 2011 led by the famous Brandon Weeden and Justin Blackmon connection. OSU that season ranked second in the country in scoring offense in hanging nearly 50 points per game (!) on opponents.

Prior to that brief stint Monken earlier in his career also served as passing game coordinator and receivers coach from 2002-2004 at OSU under then-head coach Les Miles. When Miles left for LSU and Mike Gundy took over at Oklahoma State, Monken followed Miles to Baton Rouge.

Because of the storied history of Monken at OSU his name has frequently popped up as a potential target every time OSU’s offensive coordinator position opens up, though it is unclear if he would consider ever returning to coach in Stillwater. A jump back into the NFL to coach for the Ravens would seemingly make any potential reunion unlikely (at least any time soon), though you can rest assured that if a position at OSU ever opens in the coming years, Monken’s name will no doubt be thrown out as a candidate.
