Tyler Lacy seemed to do well for himself on Thursday.

Former Oklahoma State star Tyler Lacy was the lone representative of the Cowboys on Thursday in the opening day of workouts at the 2023 NFL Draft Combine in Indy for linebackers and defensive linemen. Lacy solidified his standing as a possible draft pick with 5.15 and 5.19 unofficial times in the 40-yard dash and pretty respectable measurements to boot.

Lacy’s first 40 time was his best as he clocked a 5.15 unofficial and 5.11 official before re-running it and getting a 5.19.

There were lots of rumblings on social media that Lacy may have helped himself with a strong showing overall not just in the 40 but also in the agility drills and in measurements. His RAS score (relative athletic score) didn’t test out especially great but he showed some fire in the competitive setting where he seems to thrive, with a vertical jump of 28.5″ and a broad jump just shy of 10 feet.

Among defensive line prospects, Lacy’s 5.11 time in the 40 was hardly the best of the day but for defensive tackle prospects he would have ranked 10th best. (He’s listed as an EDGE, but weighs out similarly to other defensive tackles.)

The only other OSU rep in this year’s combine will be defensive back Jason Taylor, who on Friday is expected to take part in the on-field drills.
