An Update: Contributors and Hurricane Harvey

On Wednesday, Kyle Boone and I did a Facebook Live stream for most of the afternoon to push folks to contribute to the website. Our reason for this was two-fold. First, we want and need contributors to the site for our long-term sustainability. I think I’ve sufficiently laid that out.

Second, we decided to give $500 as a site to Hurricane Harvey victims (you can read more about that here). We told you guys if we reached 300 contributors on Wednesday we would give an additional $500 (or $1,000 total) and if we reached 350 contributors we would give $1,500 total.

We didn’t quite get to those numbers, although we got close. We are at 277 as of Thursday morning so I’m going to extend the deadline to the end of the week. If we hit 300 by Sunday night, we’ll give that $1,000 to Samaritan’s Purse to help out Harvey victims. If not, we’ll just give our original $500.
