USA Today Has Finebaum-Like Faux Pas, Prints That OU Beat Boise State
Oklahoma is 3-0. That much USA Today got right in its weekend publication.
What it didn’t get right, however, was … well, a lot. Like who OU played to achieve that mark. Or which team actually beat Boise State on Saturday. Or which team James Washington was on last season.
There’s a lot going on here, and almost all of it is real bad!

USA Today isn’t the only team to have a Fiesta Bowl flashback and forget about reality. Previewing this weekends games on Saturday, ESPN talking head Paul Finebaum also had a similar mistake. He went as far as to predict OU would beat Boise State on Saturday. A bold claim, indeed, considering OU faced Iowa State.
But here’s what actually happened: OU beat Iowa State 37-27, Oklahoma State beat Boise State 44-21, and both Sooner State squads are 3-0 entering Week 4.
Pretty embarrassing mistakes, to be blunt. But I think we can all agree it will be a delight next weekend to read about how Oklahoma State thumped first year coach Kliff Kingsbury and his Baker Mayfield-quarterback Red Raiders in Week 4.
