Daily Bullets – 9.21

In case you missed it, here’s what happened to the Big 12/Pac-12 last night. (ESPN)

Really great column by Berry Tramel on how not all of this is Dan Beebe’s fault. I didn’t realize his predecessor, Kevin Weiberg, tried to start a Big 12 network and got hosed by Texas/A&M/OU/Nebraska (NewsOK)

Can I get somebody to stake out the ConocoPhillips Alumni Center tomorrow. (NewsOK)

Gundy will miss practice on Thursday to go to Angela Spencer’s funeral. Extremely impressed by this. (Tulsa World)

Andy Staples compares Oklahoma State to Poseidon. I feel like this column is almost becoming a parody of itself. Of course he did say he’d stop writing them if we’d stop reading. (Sports Illustrated)

Joseph Randle skyrockets to the #12 RB in the country according to Rivals. (Rivals)

If you’re going to College Station this weekend, here hare some great places to eat. (Holy Turf)

Really great post (albeit from a biased source) on why ESPN is ruining the Big 12 and important recruiting really is. (hookem.com)

Bryan Fischer says why not Joe Castiglione for Big 12 athletic director? (CBS Sports)

Does this work the way I think it works? (Sugar Bowl)

Jenni Carlson with a litany of ideas here, not the least of which is hiring Bill Hancock to run the Big 12. Yes, the same Bill Hancock who currently runs the organization that keeps college football from truly capitalizing on the fact that it is the 2nd most popular sport in the country. (NewsOK)

Here’s a report on how OSU alumni did in the NFL last week. Big week for Dan Bailey. (okstate.com)

Classic Boone: “I think the Aggies are sobering up.” (NewsOK)

Ubben has Weeden at #4 in his Big 12 Heisman rankings. I approve of this. (Big 12)

Wow, Yahoo users are completely split down the middle about who will win the OSU A&M game. (Rivals)

Mike Gundy was on ESPN Radio with Ian Fitzsimmons yesterday. (ESPN Dallas)

ESPN Insider stuff here but a really in-depth look at the A&M matchup this weekend: “Weeden also stays patient and waits for receivers to clear coverage against zone looks, and OSU will also flood zone coverage with more receivers than the Aggies can cover.” (ESPN)

Clay Travis with another brilliant idea of how to bring about playoff reformation via the SEC. (Outkick the Coverage)

Bill Haisten says OSU won’t get any gifts from A&M like they did last year. (Tulsa World)

Brent Zwerneman on the curse of the senior quarterback for A&M. (MySA)

Ubben: “Kyle Field will be rocking. A network broadcast audience will be watching. It’s put-up or shutup time for the Aggies.” (ESPN)

Devin Hedgepeth used to get up at 4 AM in high school to do workouts. (Tulsa World)

This is basically the opposite of conference realignment talk…(thanks to @greggdoyelcbs for the link)

    Kyle,

You did know that Bill Hancock is a Cowboy right?

I don’t think he is an alum, but he is the father of women’s asst soccer coach Karen Hancock and father of Will Hancock… of the “10″.

I’m not saying it’s not okay to rip the BCS, but I just wanted to make sure you were aware. Many are not.
