Steve Lutz has landed a Big 12 transfer.

Robert Jennings II, who spent the past two seasons at Texas Tech, announced a commitment to Oklahoma State on Thursday night. A 6-foot-7, 230-pound forward, Jennings played 31 games at Tech this past season, making 10 starts. He averaged 4.4 points and 3.3 rebounds a game while shooting 53% from the field and 75% from the foul line.

“Every team needs a Robert Jennings,” Lutz said in OSU’s release that Jennings had signed. “He’s a great teammate and person who cares deeply about winning and the little things that impact it. He’s hard-working, incredibly talented and never takes a play off. He’ll be an outstanding fit for our program, and we’re excited to have him.”

Out of DeSoto, Texas, by way of Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes, Jennings was a three-star prospect in the 2022 class and initially chose Tech over offers from SMU, LSU, Houston, Missouri, TCU, Ole Miss and others.

He averaged 8.7 minutes a game as a true freshman in Lubbock in 2022-23, averaging 2.7 points and 1.9 rebounds a game that season.

Jennings scored in double figures on three occasions as a sophomore this past season, scoring a career-high 14 against Cincinnati in February. He has also proven to be a menace on the offensive glass, wracking up at least four offensive boards in four games as a sophomore. He had seven offensive rebounds in a game against Oral Roberts. His highlights also show an ability to rim run, which could be an important trait in Lutz’s up-tempo style.

The second transfer to commit to the Cowboys this week, Jennings joins FIU transfer guard Arturo Dean, who pledged and signed on Wednesday. The two additions bring Lutz and the Cowboys up to six scholarship players of a possible 13. Jennings’ size was much needed, as he becomes the only true post presence on OSU’s roster at this point.

Meanwhile, former OSU center Moussa Cisse was spotted at the OSU baseball game earlier Thursday evening. The Cowboys have also hosted Arkansas transfer Davonte “Devo” Davis.
