The Cowboys have their quarterback for the 2025 recruiting class.

Jett Niu on Tuesday announced his commitment to Oklahoma State. Niu had been a longtime Oklahoma State target before committing to Appalachian State when the Cowboys picked up a commitment from Adam Schobel. Well, Schobel flipped to TCU in July. Dominoes started to fall. Niu decommitted from App State on Monday before announcing his intentions to attend OSU.

Listed at 6-foot-2, 185 pounds, Niu is out of Lehi High School in Lehi, Utah. Along with his offers to OSU and App State, he also announced offers to Arizona, Washington State, Utah State, Marshall and others. Niu is the No. 1,427 player in the 247Sports Composite ranking for the 2025 class, making him a three-star recruit.

Lehi is 3-0 this season with Niu running the show. He has completed 55% of his passes for 701 yards and eight touchdowns in those three games. As a junior last season, Niu threw for 2,812 yards and 31 touchdowns while completing 65% of his throws. Lehi went 10-3 last season, making it to the state semifinals before falling to eventual state champ Corner Canyon.

Niu continues OSU’s venture into the fertile recruiting lands of Utah. He joins the likes of Jaylen Warren, Sesi Vailahi, Justin Kirkland, Nuku Mafi and others that have joined OSU from the Beehive State in recent years. He’s the second prospect from Utah committed in OSU’s 2025 class, joining tight end Jordan Vyborny (who unfortunately suffered a season-ending knee injury recently). The Cowboys’ trek into Utah doesn’t appear to be slowing down, either. On Sunday, Bryton Niu, Jett’s brother, announced OSU had offered him. Bryton is a three-star tight end in the 2026 class with offers to Utah, Cal, Oregon State, Washington State and others.

Niu becomes the 17th commitment in the Cowboys’ 2025 class. That class now ranks 54th nationally and 11th in the Big 12. From a per-commit average, OSU’s class ranks eighth in the conference, and it’s tight among Big 12 schools in that metric. Take a look:
