Mitch Solomon’s Heroics Secure Upset Bid over No. 19 Florida State
Mitch Solomon’s late-game heroics helped secure an incredible upset bid for the Cowboys over No. 19 Florida State on Saturday. The senior from Bixby finished with 12 points and 11 boards, just a tick over his season averages, but singlehandedly impacted the final outcome in crunch time.
Facing a 70-69 deficit with 10 seconds left to play, an errant layup from Cowboy point guard Kendall Smith flopped over the front of the rim and right into the hands of Mitch Solomon, who politely tipped it in for the go-ahead score.
And it gets better!
With FSU in scramble mode, it was Solomon who sealed the deal on the other end with a walk-off charge in the lane in the final second. Check out the incredible sequence below.
