Former Top-100 Recruit Curtis Jones Transferring to Oklahoma State from Indiana

Oklahoma State has landed a massive name on the transfer market in sophomore Curtis Jones, an Indiana transfer who decided recently to leave the Hoosiers program.

ESPN’s Jeff Goodman reported the news.

Jones seriously considered Oklahoma State out of Huntington Prep in high school and made a visit to Stillwater under Travis Ford’s watch before opting for Indiana. Rated as a four-star prospect in high school, he was the No. 11 overall combo guard in the Class of 2016.

Jones’ IU career never caught much traction. Under Tom Crean in 2016-17, he played in 33 games and averaged 3.5 points, and 11.2 minutes per game as a bit rotation player. When IU switched coaches, his role under Archie Miller was similar, as he played 11.4 minutes and averaged 3.0 points per game in 7 games in 2017.

Like Yankuba Sima last year, Jones is expected to arrive on campus for the spring semester and will sit out the remainder of the year and the fall semester of next season before gaining eligibility at the start of the spring semester in late 2019.
