Mike Boynton Makes Deal With Fan to Coach Intramural Team On One Condition
Mike Boynton’s coaching stock is as high as it’s ever been, but he’s not beneath getting some experience coaching on the side at the intramural level … but only on one condition, which he agreed to with a fan on Sunday.

Boynton’s been day-dreaming aloud about selling out Gallagher-Iba Arena and filling all 13,611 seats of The Ol’ Barn on Tuesday when the Pokes welcome in Baylor, so naturally that number was fresh on the brain when he woke up Sunday.
Despite a 4-6 overall Big 12 record, the Pokes still have an outside shot of sneaking into the back door of the NCAA Tournament if they can parlay a surprise win over KU into a late-season surge. Protecting home floor during the final stretch of the season will be absolutely vital, and there’s no better way to do so than with a packed house in each of the four remaining home games this season.
Boynton might be overqualified for the gig to coach Hester’s unit, but I’d imagine if he can get 13,611 four times to close the season he’d happily oblige.
Cruising at 30,000 feet and daydreaming of seeing 13,611 of my favorite people in GIA! A man can wish, right? See you Tuesday at 7pm #LetsWork #GoPokes ? ? pic.twitter.com/IlX1Oxu8c8
