Commit Demarco Jones Says Teammate and 5-Star Safety Dax Hill Recently had Oklahoma State in Top Three
Kyle Boone recently spoke with cornerback Demarco Jones of Booker T. Washington in Tulsa, who is Oklahoma State’s third commit in the 2019 recruiting class. Jones was a fascinating listen, and he talked extensively about his teammate, 5-star safety Dax Hill (also Justice Hill’s brother).
“I’m actually working on trying to get Dax (to come to OSU),” said Jones. “I am working my hardest. Me and Dax have been with each other from third grade all the way to now. His older brother Justice being there, he should go to OSU as well and be a part of the culture. I’m talking to Dax a lot.
“He’s my brother. Me and Dax have always been around each other, always grew up with each other. We’ve always been that 1-2 punch. It’s been a thing that’s been around for a while.”
When Boone asked him for his message to Dax, he laughed.
“Shut down your recruitment and go ahead and commit to Oklahoma State University. You’ll love it, and your older brother can tell you himself that it’s going to be the best thing to ever happen to him.”
Congrats my guy! Best decision you’ll ever make #whosnext https://t.co/LT27LLPCxG

As for where he stands right now, Jones said Dax is seriously considering Stillwater.
“I talked to Dax last night. He’s still everywhere, but not too long ago our defensive coordinator asked Dax his top three, and it was Michigan, Ohio State and Oklahoma State. Ever since then I’ve just been in his ear. I know he’s tired of me talking to him about it, but I want to make sure he hears me loud and clear.”
Jones went on to note that Dax is taking it really slowly and will continue to, but it was certainly encouraging (astonishing?!) to hear that Dax has OSU in his top three. As Boone recently pointed out, Dax would be the second-highest rated recruit in Oklahoma State history, slightly behind Bobby Reid and slightly ahead of XLK and Richetti Jones.
Here’s a look at the top players in Oklahoma in the 2019 class.

OSU has already notched two of the top seven players in the state in Jones and tight end Grayson Boomer, and Hill would make it three of seven including the top two. That would be unbelievable, and as good as getting Jones and Boomer early on is, getting Dax Hill would be a complete coup for Mike Gundy and the Cowboys.
