Four-Star Receiver Garrett Wilson Names OSU Among Top 8 Schools
Four-star Class of 2019 wide receiver Garrett Wilson dropped a list of his top eight schools on Sunday, wherein he named the Pokes among them. Also on the list: Texas, Nebraska, TCU, Ohio State, OU, Notre Dame and Arkansas.
Wilson is a 6-foot standout from Lake Travis High School in Austin, Texas, and the No. 10 player in the Lone Star State according to 247Sports.
Wilson’s list is a major chop to his offer sheet. As of Sunday, he had 31 scholarship offers. And he notably cut some college football powers, like USC, Michigan, Alabama, Florida State and several others that had already offered previously.
“Tradition is important to me, and that makes schools like Ohio State and Texas high on my list,” Wilson told the Austin American–Statesman in January. “The important thing is finding a school with the balance of great academics and football. I’m also looking for a place to play early.”
In two seasons playing for varsity at Lake Travis, Wilson has recorded 151 receptions for 2,472 yards and 38 touchdowns and has morphed into one of the elite Texas playmakers.
