Cleveland Browns Reportedly Shopping Former OSU Star Emmanuel Ogbah

Is another former Poke about to move on from Cleveland?

It’s been a whirlwind 48 hours in Cleveland. The Browns acquired Odell Beckham Jr. and Olivier Vernon, and shipped out Jabrill Peppers, a third round pick and a first round pick.

Oh, and now they’re shopping former OSU star Emmanuel Ogbah, thanks to the acquisition of veteran DE Vernon.

Ogbah was drafted by the Browns with the first pick of the second round in 2016. He’s been with Cleveland for three seasons, and he’s been good: In 40 games, he’s logged two forced fumbles, 12.5 sacks, 16 tackles for loss and 122 tackles.

But with the Browns drafting Myles Garrett at No. 1 a year after Ogbah’s arrival, and with Vernon representing a more proven/experienced option at DE, the team is apparently comfortable moving on from him.

Ogbah could be a coveted piece right now for teams looking to draft a young, up-and-coming asset who can get after the quarterback — one of the most valuable traits in the NFL — but time will tell which franchise (if any) emerges to make an offer. For now, former OSU teammate (and current Dolphins tackle) Vincent Taylor has an idea ….

Players get mentioned in trade talks all the time without anything coming of it, so it’s possible Ogbah stays put with the upstart Browns. We’ll keep an eye on it and see if any news comes over the next couple days as moves continue to be made throughout the league.
