OSU Linebacker Blake Barron Entering Transfer Portal

Second-year linebacker Blake Barron announced on Monday that he’ll be entering the NCAA’s transfer portal and leaving the Oklahoma State football program.

“This has been the hardest decision I’ve had to make in my life,” he said. “In my best interest, I will be entering the transfer portal and leaving Oklahoma State University.”

Barron signed with OSU in the 2018 recruiting class and looked like a building block at linebacker for the defense in his first fall camp until he tore his ACL and MCL during the lead-up to the season-opener, cutting short his freshman season and forcing him to redshirt. He underwent surgery later. As he entered his second season this fall, he fell behind on the depth chart and was not listed at all before the first game.

Barron, from Rockwall, Texas, was a three-star prospect who was recruited by Glenn Spencer before his ouster.

As a recruit, he committed to OSU over Houston and North Texas.
