Mike Gundy to be Featured in ESPN’s Film Room During National Title Game
Yes, please.
For the second time since the College Football Playoff’s inception, Mike Gundy and his mullet will be a centerpiece of ESPN’s secondary coverage of the national championship game on ESPNU.
Sports Illustrated reported Thursday that Gundy has been selected as a panelist to star in ESPN’s ever-popular Coaches Film Room, which gained popularity two years ago with him on the show. The panel two years ago consisted of Kevin Sumlin, David Cutcliffe and others, and was comprised of commentary from the coaches as the game unfolded. (It also gave us an all-time Porter post in which he live-blogged the shenanigans. Hilarious to look back on now.)
Here’s a fun little clip from the last time he was on.
Great stuff from Gundy after Georgia's first two drives were pass-heavy and unsuccessful.#CFPNationalChampionship pic.twitter.com/BA4mTBxuqy

Joining Gundy from the Big 12 will be TCU’s Gary Patterson. Vanderbilt coach Derek Mason, Pittsburgh coach Pat Narduzzi and new Boston College coach/former Ohio State DC Jeff Hafley will also be on the panel.
This won’t be a split-screen experience with Herbstreit and Fowler on one side and Gundy and the coaches on another, but it’s a fun little wrinkle that, at the very least, might be fun to monitor on the evening of the title game.
Title game between Clemson and LSU kicks at 7 p.m. Monday, which is also when this show starts on ESPNU.
