The Dallas Cowboys have been been unable to reach a long-term agreement with Dak Prescott, but Blake Jarwin just got paid.

Jarwin, a former Cowboy back at Oklahoma State, is signing a three-year extension with Dallas worth up to $24.25 million with $9.25 million guaranteed, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport. Not bad for a guy who started his collegiate career as a walk-on.

In his announcement of the extension on Instagram, Jarwin also said that he is donating money to Oklahoma State to help lessen in impact of the cancellation of spring sports.

“In conjunction with my signing, I am also announcing that I am donating a portion of my signing bonus to Oklahoma State University to help workers who have been impacted be the cancellation of spring sports,” Jarwin wrote. “Together we will all get through this and come out stronger.”

Jarwin is entering his fourth season with the NFL Cowboys after signing with the franchise as an undrafted free agent. He has appeared in 33 games with Dallas, starting 11. He has 58 career catches for 672 yards and six touchdowns.

This is probably a good sign that the former Tuttle Tiger will be looked at as the featured tight end of new coach Mike McCarthy’s offense. Many thought last season was supposed to be Jarwin’s year before veteran Jason Witten came out of retirement to start all 16 of Dallas’ games in 2019.
