• The Cowboys closed the season with their only loss – a 21-16 defeat in Iowa City to the No. 3 Iowa Hawkeyes (PFB)

• The Cowgirls are now in fourth place in the Big 12 standings now and there’s a chance the teams ahead of them beat each other up a bit (Big12Spors.com + X)

• OSU nearly hung 20 runs in their home opener, correcting a key error from their last game in Arlington:

The Cowboy bats could do no wrong, scoring all 19 of those runs in the first five innings. OSU finished the day with 19 hits, seven doubles and a trio of home runs. After going 2-for-16 with runners in scoring position against Texas State, the Pokes were 12-for-20 in the stat Sunday. [PFB]
