OSU Softball: Cowgirls Defeat Arizona State 4-0 on the Road
Meylan moved to 14-3, logging her eighth complete game of the season.
The Cowgirls started off their trip through the Grand Canyon State with a shutout win.
No. 17 Oklahoma State defeated Arizona State 4-0. Ruby Meylan logged her eighth complete game as a Cowgirl, and Megan Bloodworth scored twice and made another big play on defense to help the Cowgirls secure their midseason matchup with a win.
The Cowgirls got on the board with a no-doubter by Bloodworth (2-for-3) in the top of the third inning. It was her sixth home run of the season.

She was also making plays on defense.

The Cowgirls scored again in the fifth on a Tia Warsop fielder’s choice when Bloodworth almost got caught by ASU’s catcher. But when she retreated to third base a wild throw allowed her to double back and score.

According to the ESPN+ broadcast crew, the Cowgirls have won every game this season in which Warsop has scored. That continued on Wednesday. After scoring Bloodworth earlier in the inning, she scored herself on a Rosie Davis bunt to make it 3-0.

OSU pushed its lead to 4-0 on an Audrey Schneidmiller (0-1) sacrifice groundout that sent Tallen Edwards across the plate.
With the shutout, Meylan improves to 14-3 in her first season at OSU. In seven innings, she allowed just four hits, walked three and struck out three.

After a leadoff walk in the seventh, Meylan struck out ASU slugger Lillian Holtje. Then the Cowgirls closed the door with a double play to finish the game.

With the win, the Cowgirls improve to 22-9. There Arizona trip continues to Tucson where they’ll start a three-game series with Arizona, starting Friday. The Cowgirls and Wildcats square off at 8 p.m. CST on Friday at Arizona.
