OSU Hoops: Cowboys Land Record Six on NABC Honors Court, Earn Academic Team Excellence Award

In his first season at the helm, Steve Lutz’s Cowboys performed well in the classroom.
Oklahoma State received an Academic Team Excellence Award from the National Association of Basketball Coaches and landed a program-record six players on the NABC’s Honors Court.
Kirk Cole, Arturo Dean, Robert Jennings II, Mikey Kelvin, C.J. Smith and Patrick Suemnick all received the honor for holding a GPA of 3.2 or higher during the 2024-25 school year. Dean, Kelvin and Suemnick each entered the transfer portal this offseason. Smith is not listed on OSU’s 2025-26 roster.
While the Cowboys underwent significant turnover this offseason, Cole and Jennings are still on this year’s roster.
OSU won the Academic Team Excellence Award for the second time in the last three seasons. It’s given to programs that achieve at least a 3.0 GPA across their roster. OSU’s GPA was 3.14 last year.
