Big 12 in the AP Poll
Arizona State (No. 11), Kansas State (No. 17), Iowa State (No. 22) and Texas Tech (No. 23) represent the Big 12 in the preseason top 25.
Another three Big 12 schools were right on the cusp of starting the year with a number next to their name, as BYU, Utah and Baylor were the first teams in the “others receiving votes category.” TCU and Colorado also received votes but were further down the list.
The Big 12 had five teams in the preseason Coaches Poll, with BYU joining the four teams featured in the AP Poll. Generally the media seems to be a tad bit higher on the league than the Coaches. Kansas State is the second conference team in both polls, but the Coaches have the Wildcats at 20th to the Media’s 17th. Texas Tech is also one spot higher in the AP Poll.
Oklahoma State’s Schedule in the AP Poll
There are four teams from the AP Top 25 on the Cowboys’ 2025 schedule:
Sept. 6 — at No. 7 Oregon
Oct. 25 — at No. 23 Texas Tech
Nov. 15 — vs. No. 17 Kansas State
Nov. 29 — vs. No. 22 Iowa State
The Cowboys also play Baylor — a team that would be No. 28 in an expanded ranking on Sept. 27.
Although Oregon is No. 7, the Ducks did receive one first-place vote heading into the season.
