Injury Report: Quinton Stewart Set to Return, Freddie Brock Doubtful
OSU plays Baylor this afternoon.
Injury reporting in Big 12 play is a little different than it has been in the past.
Oklahoma State opens its Big 12 schedule at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Boone Pickens Stadium against Baylor. The Big 12 has started doing Player Availability Reports for conference games, with those reports dropping every day from Wednesday to Saturday.
Here’s what OSU’s Friday update looked like:
OUT
Da’Wain Lofton — WR
Hauss Hejny — QB
Louie Canepa — OL
Markell Samuel — OL
Matrail Lopez — WR
DeSean Brown — DL
Oscar Hammond — TE
QUESTIONABLE
Freddie Brock — RB
Carson Su’esu’e — TE
Most of that was expected, as all of those players who were listed out have been listed out all week.
Freddie Brock and Carson Su’esu’e started the week as doubtful but moved up into the questionable category. On OSU’s pregame radio show, Dave Hunziker said Brock was “more on the doubtful side.”
OSU is deep at running back, though, especially with the return of Rodney Fields Jr. After playing a limited role in Oregon, Fields carried 17 times against Tulsa last week and ran for 113 yards.
Tight end Quinton Stewart is expected to be back, though. Stewart missed the Cowboys game against Tulsa after getting rolled up on in the Cowboys’ game in Eugene.
Baylor
The Bears defense is banged up, particularly at linebacker.
Here’s a look at their Friday Player Availability Report:
OUT
Carl Williams IV — S
Devin Turner — S
LeVar Thornton Jr. — CB
Mason Dossett — WR
Phoenix Jackson — LB
Dawson Pendergrass — RB
Travion Barnes — LB
Brody Wilhelm — TE
PROBABLE
Cooper Lanz — DL
Brody Day — WR
Devonte Tezino — DL
