STILLWATER — Jax Forrest’s high school held a Senior Night for him at a dual this week.

Bishop McCort (appropriately nicknamed the Crushers) bested Greater Johnstown 67-0. Forrest, an Oklahoma State signee and 2025 United State World Team member, pinned his opponent in 19 seconds at 145 pounds.

For a little bit now, there has been online discussion of the possibility of Forrest coming to Stillwater at the semester, and it hasn’t been simply message board chatter.

MatScout’s Willie Saylor has openly discussed the possibility on the “Basch and the Brain” podcast, and the guys at FloWrestling have openly discussed it on their podcast. Those are guys who are plugged into the wrestling world.

Nothing has been stated officially to this point. OSU coach David Taylor keeps personnel moves close to the vest when it involves people actively on OSU’s roster, so it should come as no surprise that when asked about the discussion surrounding Forrest on Friday, Taylor didn’t get into it.

“We’re just focused on Nebraska right now,” he said.

If the plan is for Forrest to come at the semester, that doesn’t necessarily mean he’d get thrown right into the Cowboys’ lineup. He could redshirt or grayshirt.

Forrest was at OSU’s dual against West Virginia last weekend, with Johnstown, Pennsylvania being about a two-hour drive to Morgantown.

Why is this potentially a big deal? Well, Forrest is the bluest of blue-chip recruits.

He is the No. 1 pound-for-pound prospect on Flo’s big board for the 2026 class.

Forrest won gold at the U23 World Championships this year at 61 kg (about 134 pounds) and was the United States’ representative at the Senior World Championships after winning the U.S. Open and beating 2023 world champ Vito Arujau two matches to none at Final X.

He’s the biggest recruit David Taylor has landed, and that’s really saying something considering Taylor signed four of the top six prospects in that 2026 class.
