Drew Mestemaker Among Many North Texas Players Visiting Oklahoma State This Weekend
How many can OSU secure?
Many members of Eric Morris’ former team will take a visit to his current school this weekend, and we’ll see just how many of those North Texas players trade their green in for orange.
Drew Mestemaker, Caleb Hawkins, Wyatt Young, Miles Coleman, Johnny Dickson, Fatafehi Vailea, Zhaiylen Scott and Kollin Lewis are among those Mean Green portal entrants who have either announced their visiting Stillwater this weekend or have had reports come out that they are visiting. Here’s a little bit about each of those guys.
Mestemaker:Â If you’ve stumbled to this post on this website, you probably know who Drew Mestemaker is at this point.
He led the nation in passing in 2025 with 4,379 yards — 406 yards more than second place. He was only a redshirt freshman in 2025, meaning he has three years of eligibility remaining should he need them.
247Sports, On3 and ESPN all rank Mestemaker in the top 10 of the available players in the portal, with 247 being the highest on him, listing Mestemaker as a five-star portal prospect and the No. 3 player in the portal.
Hawkins:Â An Oklahoman, Hawkins had an outstanding true freshman season for the Mean Green, running for 1,434 yards and a nation-leading 25 touchdowns. He is a Walter Camp Second Team All-American and was named the American Conference’s Rookie of the Year.
Hawkins Hails from North Rock Creek High in Shawnee, where he ran for 1,602 yards and 28 touchdowns as a senior.
On3 lists Hawkins as the No. 6 player in the transfer portal — two spots ahead of where the service ranks Mestemaker. 247Sports has Hawkins as the No. 16 player in the portal.
Young:Â A Sophomore from Katy, Texas, Young was Mestemaker’s top target in 2025, catching 70 passes for 1,264 yards (third nationally) and 10 touchdowns. In a game against Rice in late November, Young caught eight passes for 295 yards and two touchdowns.
Although Young is set to visit Stillwater, he reportedly has other visits lined up to Louisville and Michigan.
247Sports has Young as the No. 39 player in the portal. He isn’t far being on On3’s rankings at No. 44.
Coleman: A high school teammate of Mestemaker’s, Coleman is a 5-foot-6, 179-pound slot receiver with big-play potential.Â
He caught 47 passes for 550 yards and two touchdowns as a true sophomore in 2025. He eclipsed the century mark in the American title game, catching seven balls for 125 yards and a touchdown.Â
He should have two years of eligibility remaining.
Dickson:Â Listed at 6-foot-2, 296 pounds, Dickson was the Mean Green’s starting right guard this season and made six starts for UNT in 2024.
He allowed just two sacks in 430 opportunities, per PFF, and graded out as the No. 5 guard in the American when it comes to run blocking.
He should have one year of eligibility remaining.
Vailea:Â A 6-foot-1, 292-poound defensive lineman, Vailea started UNT’s first four games of the season before an injury ended his year. He still had 15 tackles in that time.
Vailea is up to 118 total tackles in his career with six for loss, 3.5 sacks and three forced fumbles.
He should have one year of eligibility remaining.
Scott:Â A 6-foot-1, 240-pound defensive lineman, Scott was a redshirt freshman in 2025, where he made 14 tackles and two sacks in the Mean Green’s first five games before an injury shortened his season.
He’ll have at least three seasons of eligibility left.
Lewis:Â A 5-11, 185-pound corner, Lewis intercepted two passes in his redshirt sophomore season. He also had 15 tackles, one tackle for loss, a pair of pass breakups and a fumble recovery.
