North Texas Offensive Line Transfer Johnny Dickson Commits to Oklahoma State
Another one.
A third North Texas offensive lineman has committed to Oklahoma State on this fine Sunday.
Listed at 6-foot-2, 296 pounds, Johnny Dickson made known that he will be a Cowboy, joining fellow former UNT linemen Desmond Magiya and Braydon Nelson.
Dickson allowed just two sacks 430 opportunities this season, per PFF. He graded out as the No. 5 run-blocking guard in the American Conference, as well.
He should have one season of eligibility remaining.
Dickson got to Denton in 2024, playing in 10 games with six starts. Before that, he had spent two seasons at Virginia Tech along with 2025 OSU O-lineman Bob Schick. Dickson played in 10 games for the Hokies in 2023 and redshirted in 2022.
An interesting piece of lore about Dickson is that OSU was actually his first scholarship offer way back when.
Dickson finished as the No. 25 interior offensive lineman in the 2022 recruiting class, per the 247Sports Composite ranking. He announced an Oklahoma State offer on June 17, 2020 before his junior year of high school. Dickson finished his high school recruitment with offers to Oklahoma, Arkansas, Nebraska, Texas A&M and others.
With three members of UNT’s O-line on the way to Stillwater, it’s probably a good time to note that the Mean Green ranked 20th in pass blocking this season, per PFF grades. Meanwhile UNT ranked 10th nationally in run blocking.
Along with this haul of offensive linemen, new OSU coach Eric Morris is also bringing over O-line coach Cody Crill.
