North Texas Running Back Transfer Dennis Moody III Commits to Oklahoma State
Another running back and another North Texas transfer.
The Cowboys have added a fifth portal running back and another transfer from North Texas.
Dennis Moody III announced via his Instagram on Tuesday morning that he has committed to Oklahoma State. The 2025 season was Moody’s first at UNT after starting his career at North Alabama. He played in four games, preserving a redshirt, in 2025. He should have two years of eligibility remaining.
Moody played in 21 games across the 2023 and 2024 season at North Alabama. In that time, he took 101 handoffs, turning those into 395 yards and a touchdown. He also caught 15 passes for another 89 yards.
Listed at 5-foot-11, 165 pounds, Moody is from Frisco, Texas by way of Reedy High School. He played running back and quarterback at Reedy was was his district’s MVP as a senior after leading his team to an undefeated regular season. MaxPreps has stats for 10 of his games that year, showing he ran for 1,346 yards and 15 touchdowns while catching 17 passes for 216 yards and another score.
Moody joins Caleb Hawkins (North Texas), Ayo Adeyi (James Madison), Tre Page III (Tarleton State) and William Mason (UCO) as running backs the Cowboys have added via that portal. That group joins high school commits KD Jones and Javen Hall, giving the Cowboys seven running backs going into 2026.
Moody is the 17th player to transfer from North Texas straight to OSU, following Eric Morris and much of his staff to Stillwater.
