Lefteris Mantzoukas No Longer with Oklahoma State Basketball
‘We fully support Lefteris and wish him nothing but the very best as he continues to prioritize his health and well-being.’
The Cowboys’ roster is down to 14 entering Wednesday’s matchup against Kansas.
The program announced Wednesday afternoon that Greek forward Lefteris Mantzoukas is no longer with the program.
“Lefteris Mantzoukas has decided to withdraw from Oklahoma State University and will no longer be part of our basketball program as he focuses on his health,” said OSU coach Steve Lutz in the program’s release. “Lefty has been a tremendous teammate and person during his time in Stillwater and will be deeply missed. While we are disappointed to see him step away, we understand this was not an easy decision for him and those close to him. We fully support Lefteris and wish him nothing but the very best as he continues to prioritize his health and well-being.”
Mantzoukas came to Stillwater as a 22-year-old freshman with pro experience. He spent parts of eight seasons competing in the Greek Basketball League, including four with 2024 EuroLeague champion Panathinaikos Athens. He had caps on Greece’s junior and senior national teams.
He played regularly through the opening two months of OSU’s season, making six straight starts from Nov. 19 to Dec. 13. That Dec. 13 game was the Cowboys’ Bedlam matchup with OU and would be the last time Mantzoukas played until Feb. 4, where he contributed 11 minutes in the Cowboys’ big win against BYU. He played 13 minutes against Arizona, missed the Arizona State game and then played eight minutes in the Cowboys’ loss to TCU this past Saturday.
Mantzoukas’ OSU career ends having played a dozen games where he averaged 4.4 points and 4.2 rebounds a contest.
OSU hosts Kansas at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Gallagher-Iba Arena.
